Built by Clinical Operations Veterans. Focused on Solving What Slows Trials Down.
InnovoCommerce was founded by the team that founded and built Argus Safety, the industry standard for pharmacovigilance. That is more than two decades spent inside the highest-stakes problems in clinical research, and it is why we do not just build software. We engineer solutions to the specific friction points that slow modern trial execution.
Clinical Development Faces a Growing Execution Gap
Our mission is to eliminate that gap through precision-engineered workflows and real-time, actionable intelligence. We focus on the highest-friction areas of clinical development, including study startup, Risk-Based Monitoring, site activation, patient enrollment, and data integrity, to help sponsors and CROs accelerate study execution with greater consistency and confidence.
The complexity of modern protocols is outstripping the capacity of legacy systems. Organizations are struggling to bridge the gap between scientific ambition and operational reality.

Umesh Verma
Co-Founder & Chief Executive Officer
Umesh co-founded InnovoCommerce in 2008 and serves as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. He leads the development of Innovo CoPilot, the AI orchestration layer that enables biopharmaceutical sponsors and CROs to design protocols, engage sites, and execute clinical trials more efficiently.
Verma was one of the founding members of the Argus Safety product that was acquired by Oracle Life Sciences. In 2000 he co-founded Commerce Velocity, a leading-edge mortgage technology SaaS business that was acquired by Bear Stearns in 2006.
Under his leadership, InnovoCommerce's orchestration layer supports more than 800 active trials across 60 countries, serving 60,000 sites and 300,000 users at leading life sciences organizations. He earned a Master of International Studies from Claremont Graduate University.
Umesh brings experience building and scaling enterprise software platforms for highly regulated industries to InnovoCommerce's work in clinical development.
Veeps Piravi
Co-Founder & Chief Strategy Officer
Veeps is a Co-Founder and Chief Strategy Officer at InnovoCommerce, where he helps shape the company's product direction and long-term vision for accelerating clinical trial design and execution for sponsors and CROs worldwide.
Since co-founding InnovoCommerce in 2008 alongside Umesh Verma and Amit Athalye, Veeps has played a central role in developing the company's clinical AI intelligence platform, connecting documents, data, and evidence into a unified knowledge base that powers clinical R&D, protocol development, study startup, site engagement, monitoring, and submissions.
With deep experience spanning clinical technology and enterprise operations, Veeps brings a track record of product and strategic leadership from prior roles at Commerce Velocity, Relsys International, Intercope, and Citibank. He holds a Master's degree from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science.
Under his strategic and product leadership, InnovoCommerce has grown to support over 800 global clinical trials and 300,000 users, partnering with organizations like Novo Nordisk and Boehringer Ingelheim. Veeps is based in Irvine, California.
Sachil Verma
Chief Product & Technology Officer
Sachil leads AI product and technology strategy at InnovoCommerce, where he has built the eClinical capabilities behind Innovo Copilot's orchestration layer, supporting more than 800 global trials for sponsors and CROs, from emerging biotech to enterprise.
As Chief Product & Technology Officer, he owns the AI product vision end to end: architecture, roadmap, clinical user experience, and go-to-market strategy. His approach unifies disconnected clinical data into a single foundation and applies AI across the full study lifecycle.
A UC Berkeley graduate with a focus on artificial intelligence, Sachil paired that foundation with direct immersion in clinical operations, building solutions that meet clinical teams where they work. He speaks regularly at industry conferences on how to adopt AI reliably in clinical studies.
Amit Athalye, PhD
Chief Compliance Officer
Amit has been a founding member of multiple companies and helped build the operational backbone of each. Before that, he spent years inside the medical device industry helping to bring patient monitors, ophthalmology equipment, and heart valves through development and into the field.
At Commerce Velocity, where he was a founding member and Chief Strategy Officer, Amit built a rules-based automated underwriting engine for subprime lending — AI as it was practiced years before large language models became the industry standard — along with point-of-sale solutions and NPV-based risk models.
Today, as Chief Compliance Officer at InnovoCommerce, Amit oversees compliance, regulatory, quality, and AI infrastructure across the company's full product line. He holds a PhD in Engineering from Washington State University and brings a rare combination of technical depth and regulatory judgment to every product InnovoCommerce builds.
Paul Sahargun
Chief Commercial Officer
Paul has spent 33 years building and leading commercial functions across the life sciences industry, from early-stage research through clinical development, manufacturing, and diagnostics.
Earlier in his career, he led sales for ThermoFisher Scientific's Digital Science unit and later led sales for the BIOVIA division at Dassault Systemes. He then led commercial for a new pharma business unit at AspenTech, before leading commercial operations at Anju Software across eClinical and Medical Affairs, guiding the company to a successful acquisition.
Since his time at AspenTech, Paul has served as a strategic advisor to Bethesda Group Advisors and founded SpringOQ, his own consulting practice for biotechnology solution providers. At InnovoCommerce, Paul now leads all commercial strategy, sales, marketing, and business development as Chief Commercial Officer.
