Built by Clinical Operations Veterans. Focused on Solving What Slows Trials Down.
InnovoCommerce was founded by the team that founded and built Argus Safety, the industry standard for pharmacovigilance. That is more than two decades spent inside the highest-stakes problems in clinical research, and it is why we do not just build software. We engineer solutions to the specific friction points that slow modern trial execution.
Clinical Development Faces a Growing Execution Gap
Our mission is to eliminate that gap through precision-engineered workflows and real-time, actionable intelligence. We focus on the highest-friction areas of clinical development, including study startup, Risk-Based Monitoring, site activation, patient enrollment, and data integrity, to help sponsors and CROs accelerate study execution with greater consistency and confidence.
The complexity of modern protocols is outstripping the capacity of legacy systems. Organizations are struggling to bridge the gap between scientific ambition and operational reality.

Umesh Verma
Co-Founder & CEO
Umesh co-founded InnovoCommerce in 2008 and has led it as CEO since, setting the organizational strategy through two decades of innovation in how clinical research is run.
As a founding member of the team behind Argus Safety, Umesh led the product to become the industry-standard pharmacovigilance system that was acquired by Oracle in 2009. In 2000 he co-founded Commerce Velocity, a mortgage technology SaaS business acquired by Bear Stearns in 2006, and acquired again by Fidelity National Financial in 2010.
He brings the judgment of a founder who has built products that became industry standards paired with decades of direct experience in the clinical space.
Veeps Piravi
Co-Founder & Chief Strategy Officer
Veeps co-founded InnovoCommerce in 2008 and shapes the company's product direction and long-term vision for accelerating clinical trial design and execution for sponsors and CROs worldwide.
He has played a central role in developing the company's clinical AI intelligence platform, connecting documents, data, and evidence into a unified knowledge base powering clinical R&D, protocol development, study startup, monitoring, and submissions.
Veeps brings strategic leadership from prior roles at Commerce Velocity, Relsys International, Intercope, and Citibank. He holds a Master's from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science. Based in Irvine, California.
Paul Sahargun
Chief Commercial Officer
Paul has spent 33 years building and leading commercial functions across the life sciences industry — from early-stage research through clinical development, manufacturing, and diagnostics.
He led sales for ThermoFisher Scientific's Digital Science unit, the BIOVIA division at Dassault Systemes, a pharma business unit at AspenTech, and commercial operations at Anju Software, guiding it to a successful acquisition.
Paul founded SpringOQ, his own consulting practice for biotech solution providers, and now leads all commercial strategy, sales, marketing, and business development at InnovoCommerce.
Sachil Verma
Chief Product & Technology Officer
Sachil has built eClinical software and AI at InnovoCommerce that have supported more than 800 global trials for sponsors and CROs. As Chief Product & Technology Officer, he owns end-to-end AI product vision and development. His approach unifies disconnected clinical context and deploys an AI orchestration layer across the study lifecycle.
A UC Berkeley graduate with a focus on artificial intelligence, Sachil pairs that foundation with direct immersion in clinical operations and delivers solutions that meet clinical teams where they work and extend what they can do. His scope has scaled with the product: beyond architecture and roadmap, he owns the clinical user experience, drives go-to-market strategy, and speaks regularly at industry conferences on optimal practices to adopt AI reliably in clinical studies.
He combines precision in building AI with fluency in how clinical teams operate, turning technical depth into solutions that drive real outcomes.
Amit Athalye, PhD
Chief Compliance Officer
Amit is a founding member of multiple companies, with years inside the medical device industry bringing patient monitors, ophthalmology equipment, and heart valves through development and into the field.
At Commerce Velocity he built a rules-based automated underwriting engine — AI before large language models became standard — along with point-of-sale solutions and NPV-based risk models.
As CCO at InnovoCommerce, Amit oversees compliance, regulatory, quality, and AI infrastructure. He holds a PhD in Engineering from Washington State University.
